Smokey’s Garage Door is a family-owned and operated local garage door company providing service, repairs, and installation on all brands of garage doors, springs, and openers since 1982. Who is Smokey?
Smokey entered the garage door business after he retired from 20 years as a US Air Force fighter pilot (call sign: SMOKEY) in 1974. Fast forward to the mid-80s, Smokey decided to start his own door business. Now, his son, Kevin Pettiette, runs the family-owned business.

Kevin Pettiette
Owner of Smokey’s Garage Door
He began working as a service technician in 1982. Kevin opened his own business in 1996 and has grown the company to employ 8 other technicians and 4 office staff. From 1993 to 2002, he served on the Board of Directors of the Garage Door Association of Arizona (GDAA), serving as its president in 1996.
From 1996 to 2002, he served on the Board of Directors for the Institute of Door Dealer Education and Accreditation (IDEA). Here, he developed, standardized, and wrote much of the training curriculum still used by all IDEA-accredited companies and the training curriculum used to certify residential garage door technicians. Kevin is a current Board Member of the International Door Association (IDA) and serves as the Heritage and Nominating Committee Chairman. He has dedicated his entire career to garage door repair excellence and professionalism.
Kevin enjoys aviation, most sporting activities, and motorcycling. With Jane, he has raised 6 children and currently has 5 grandchildren. To get away, they often fly to their second home in Overgaard, where they can relax and escape the heat.
David
Operations Manager
David has been with Smokey’s Garage Door since January 2011. He is currently the General Manager.His 12 years of experience have exposed him to many differing and unique issues, which guide him to successfully diagnose most repairs. His well-stocked work truck should enable him to successfully repair or replace your garage door problem on his first trip to your home.
Zach
Zach will celebrate 10 years with the company this year!!! Zach is our senior tech here at Smokey’s Garage Door. Zach has been with us for over 6 years and brings us 12 years of experience. He was certified at the Pittsburgh IDEA expo in 2019. Zach enjoys golfing with his boys on his time off. https://www.truity.com/test-results/disc/18330/42744830
Carlos
Carlos has been with us since 2016. Carlos has over 5 years of experience and is one of our veteran staff members.His personality and experience have awarded him with many 5-star reviews. Many of our customers request him by name. Carlos was certified in the Pittsburgh 2019 Expo.
Dave
Dave has been with us since 2020. Dave has been with Smokey’s Garage Door for just under a year and has brought over 4 years of experience to our team.Dave has successfully won employee of the month in the short time he has been here. With his consistent 5-star customer rating, we are excited that Dave joined our staff and look forward to him serving your garage door needs.
Derek
Derek has been with us since 2021. Derek has been in the garage door industry for over 7 years. We appreciate his wealth of knowledge and personality. His great smile has kept our customers satisfied over the years. He is an outdoors man and loves riding his ATV’s and being out on the lakes with his family.
Jenae
Administration Manager
Jenae is our utility player here at Smokey’s. When she isn’t greeting our customer’s on the phone with her lovely voice she is responsible for our payroll and accounts receivable department. She has been with the company since November of 2014.
Sergio
Field Technician
Sergio is one of the newer members of our team. Sergio immediately received positive reviews once he started out on his own. He has been developed and trained under the tutelage of our very best here at Smokey’s Garage Door. We are excited to see what this new relationship brings us here for years to come!
